Terms of service

What you get, what we promise, and what we deliberately do not.

Last updated 20 September 2026 · Markoura · markoura.com

The agreement

These terms are between you and Markoura, which operates Markoura at markoura.com. Using the service means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you are allowed to bind it.

What the service actually does

Markoura asks AI assistants the kinds of questions your customers ask — “best plumber in Camden” and its many cousins — and records which businesses the answers name and which pages they cite. From that it produces a mention rate, a comparison against the businesses that were named instead of you, and suggestions for closing the gap.

What it is not

This is the most important section on the page, so it is deliberately blunt.

  • A measurement, not a guarantee. AI assistants are probabilistic. The same question can return different businesses an hour apart, and a mention rate is a sample of that behaviour at a point in time — not a fixed position you hold.
  • Not search engine optimisation, and not a ranking service. We cannot make an AI assistant name you, and nobody honestly can. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something we are not.
  • Not affiliated with the assistants we measure. Markoura is not endorsed by, partnered with, or connected to Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity or any other provider. Their names appear here to say what was measured, nothing more.
  • Not advice. Suggestions are generated from the measurement. They are a starting point for your judgement, not legal, financial or marketing advice.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at support@markoura.com if you think someone else has access. You must be 18 or over, and the business details you enter must be accurate — a report on a business described wrongly is a wrong report.

Running reports on businesses you do not own

Anyone can run a report on any business, in the same way anyone can search for one. That is allowed. What is not allowed is using the output to harass, defame, or mislead — for instance presenting a competitor's mention rate as a permanent fact, or stripping the measurement date off it. Shared report pages are hidden from search engines and expire after 30 days for exactly this reason.

Plans and limits

Each plan includes a monthly allowance and a minimum wait between measurements, because every measurement costs us real money at the providers we query. As things stand:

  • Pro — 40 measurements a month, at most one every 6 hours, across up to 2 businesses.
  • Agency — 200 measurements a month, at most one an hour, across up to 15 businesses.

Allowances reset on the first of each calendar month and do not roll over. The current numbers are always on the pricing page, which is generated from the same configuration the service enforces, so the two cannot disagree.

Publishing to your other accounts

If you connect a platform, Markoura can post to it on your behalf. Two rules govern that, and both are enforced in code rather than merely promised: nothing is published until you have approved that specific draft, and nothing is published to a platform you have not connected yourself. We never create accounts for you, and we never post anywhere you have not explicitly authorised. Disconnecting a platform ends our access to it.

You remain responsible for what gets posted under your name, including whether it is accurate and whether it complies with that platform's own rules.

What you may not do

  • Resell, white-label or redistribute reports as your own product without our written agreement.
  • Scrape the service, or work around the rate limits and allowances.
  • Use it to generate content that is unlawful, deceptive, or infringes someone else's rights.
  • Attempt to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service.

Who owns what

You keep everything you put in — your business details, and the copy generated for you, which is yours to use. We keep the service itself: the software, the questions it generates, the scoring method and the brand. Aggregated, anonymised measurements may be used to improve the product and to publish category-level findings that do not identify you.

Availability

The service depends on third-party AI providers. When one of them is slow, rate-limited or down, parts of Markoura will be too. We aim for continuous availability and do not promise it. A measurement that fails because of an upstream outage is not charged against your monthly allowance.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect losses, and our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the three months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You agree to cover us against claims arising from your use of the service — in particular from content you chose to publish through it.

Ending it

You can cancel at any time from your account page; the cancellation and refund policy sets out what happens to the rest of your paid period. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email to account holders and by the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Markoura after a change, the updated terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to support@markoura.com — most things are settled faster that way.
